Vetta Island Peak 6182 m

Yesterday 4th April, Easter day, Aldo, Tamara and I went till the summit of Island Peak 6182 m and completed the acclimatisation period we planned before our main goal. Aldo and I will attempt Everest, Tamara Lotse . I will try both if the energy will be enough and the weather good….

Yesterday was cold and windy but we had a full day blue sky. We had a fantastic view from the summit and for me was the seventh time that I stand on that nice point. We started for the climb at 7.00 am and at 11 we were already on the summit. The same day we descent till base camp and walked to Dingboche at 4400 m at Arizona Lodge. So the day had been quite intense… Today we will have a rest day and tomorrow we will move to Lobuche 5000 m and the day after finally to Everest and Lhotse Base camp.

Ieri 4 Aprile, giorno di Pasqua, Aldo, Tamara ed io siamo saliti in vetta all’Island Peak 6182 m ed abbiamo completato così la fase di acclimatamento preventivata per meglio prepararci per i nostri obbiettivi alpinistici. Io e Aldo tenteremo infatti l’Everest e Tamara il Lhotse. Il sottoscritto proverà addirittura a farli tutti e due. Vedremo…

La giornata di ieri è stata serena ma fredda e ventosa. Il panorama dalla cima è stato però decisamente appagante. Per me è la settima volta che arrivo lassù e ieri tutti e tre abbiamo impiegato solo poco più di 4 ore partendo dal campo base a 5050 m. Dopo la cima siamo rientrati direttamente al villaggio di Dingboche a 4400 m all’Arizona Lodge, compiendo così una tappa decisamente lunga ed intensa . Oggi giorno di riposo e domani ci trasferiremo a Lobuche , dove trascorreremo l’ultima notte prima di arrivare al Campo Base dell’Everest e Lhotse ed iniziare la nostra esperienza in altissima quota.
